What is this trend?
It is a TikTok trend from October 2026: a short clip of a packed night-time street party where someone nobody expected to dance walks into the middle and owns the floor with the charme step. The AI version swaps only the dancer and keeps everything else.
English speakers usually call it charme dance AI; in Portuguese and Spanish it is baile charme IA or efecto de baile charme. Some tutorials label it a Brazilian funk dance effect, but the step is charme, not funk carioca.
Real charme is a Rio de Janeiro dance and music scene that goes back to the early 1980s: people dancing the same steps in rows to slow R&B and soul. The best-known baile charme takes place under the Madureira viaduct. The trend plays with that scene; the real party is still there every Saturday.
